Help to Health is Live!

Help to Health is a healthcare appointments volunteer car driver service. We’re passionate about giving those who need it that little bit of extra help so they can attend their healthcare appointments.

Help to Health is delivered collaboratively by us, Supportive and Volunteering Matters, who between us have over 44 years’ experience delivering volunteer car driver services to the people of County Durham.

“If you live in the Durham Dales, Easington, Sedgefield, Derwentside, Durham or Chester-le-Street areas and need assistance getting to your health appointments, our volunteers could help get you there.”

The Help to Health telephone booking line, 0300 3309424 is open Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays, and transport is available from 8.30am until 5.30pm weekdays. Your journey will need to be booked at least 48 hours in advance and is subject to a volunteer driver being available at the required date and time.

Help to Health has a team of over 220 volunteer drivers and coordinators but as patient demand steadily increases we soon won’t be able to meet every request for transport. If you can spare an hour or so to help someone to their doctors’ appointment or hospital clinic we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to have ever volunteered before but you do need to have your own car and drivers licence. Telephone 0300 3309424
